On-Site Renovation

The panel titled “On-site Renovation” moderated by Faruk Goksu will be organized as part of BUILDIST. Strategically and locally implementable approaches and models should be developed in order to lower the risks of building structures and life quality. Projects are needed to be developed in order to eradicate the risks regarding the urban fabric of the city that is a direct result of the "Build-Sell" model by re-organizing and bringing together of design, construction and finance. Pioneer investors, public sector executives and local players should come together in order to revise the plot based "Build-Sell" model by implementing the "on-site renovation" approach that utilizes optimum city block based "Demolish-Build" model. The purpose is to start the discussion on a new model that will develop new financial models, enable new urban fabric designs and be agreed upon all parties. "On-site Renovation" which should be developed based on concensus and volunteering will be dicussed by the experts of the field.
